Rummy Hand Checker
Pick the wild joker, add your 13 cards and the checker finds the best possible grouping. It tells you whether the hand can be declared and how many points it would cost if someone else declared first.
How the checker decides
A hand is a valid declaration when all 13 cards sit in groups of three or more, there are at least two sequences, and at least one of them is a pure sequence. The checker tries every possible grouping and picks the one with the fewest points, the same way our free rummy game counts a losing hand.
- Sequences: three or more cards of one suit in order. Ace can be low (A♥2♥3♥) or high (Q♥K♥A♥), but K♥A♥2♥ is not allowed.
- Sets: three or four cards of the same rank in different suits, like 9♠9♥9♦. Two cards of the same suit can't be in one set.
- Jokers: the printed joker and every card of the wild rank can replace any card. A wild card used as itself, like 6♣7♣8♣ when sevens are wild, still makes a pure sequence.
FAQ
Can I type my cards instead of tapping them?
Yes. Type cards like 5h 6h 7h 9s 9d 9c JK, where s, h, d and c are the suits and JK is a printed joker, then press Use.
Why can I only add each card twice?
Indian rummy uses two decks, so there are only two copies of every card, plus two printed jokers.
Does the checker save my hand?
Only in your own browser, so the hand is still there if you come back. Nothing is sent to us.
